Soul Sunday

Where do i start from today?...This week was a lovely week for me..It went by in a twinkle of an eye...Hmmnn...thats surprising, considering the fact that i had tons of skl stuff i had to attend to....of which i did, but im yet to be done....thats by the way tho....

Soul Sunday?....lets see....like i always say, God is soooo FAITHFUL...He His an ever present help in time(s) of trouble...Yes, im talking from experiences...There are instances when you just wanna give up on everything, but somehow you find yourself still "moving on"...Thats not your strength, honey...its GOD!!!...Thats Him being faithful.....with or without your help/knowledge/faithfulness, etc, He is always there....What do i do in such situations? In all honesty, God isnt always the first person i resort to, but at the end, He takes His place.....

In all of these situations, i have learned the act of WORSHIP...it is one thing that touches God...and i can say this bcos its what i do and it works for me. Worship moves God and blesses you, as well...It is an "instant result getter".....

This particular worship song, I love..hehe...its titled "Alpha and Omega", by Israel Houghton & New Breed..

I am not gonna write about him, but click to read his interview with the 700 club

Back to the song i love.. Here it is...ENJOY....and have a blessed week...

Tella led the Golden Eaglets to their victory in the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in South Korea, in September.

Olori Oko (Infinity)

Am i d only person who didnt hear/hasnt heard bout these guys? Damn!!...dis info passed mi...like how did that happen?...quite unusual...

I was askn my friend for naija movies and randomly, she was like have i heard the olori oko song?...i was like olori oko....like wat d hell....she was like aiight chill....jen kin play orin no fun e (lemme play the song for u)......she did...nd i was stunned!!....

She was like dis guys got an award for the song now....haba...as in..d song is that good...
anyway, i did my own research on the song and the infinity group as well...what did i find out?

The song, olori oko, has become a national anthem (or so i read) in naija, amongst the old and young.......it also topped the Nigerian Music charts for months (probably, it still is).....

About the concept of the song?....."Olori Oko si bo" literarily means "Christ is coming back"...(hopefully i got d translation right....lol).....and thats what the infinity guys are trying to potray via their song....

About the group itself?...Infinity is a xtian group, which consists of five guys: David Akintayo Thomas, Kehinde Akinbode, Samson Nwagwu, Joseph Okogun and Sunny Steven; with sensational voices/talent. In addition to that, they happen to be educated. David is a Theartre Art Undergrad at the University of Lagos. Samson and Joseph are studying Industrial Relations and Personal Management at the Lagos State University. Sunny and kehinde are into sound engineering . Kehinde is also a producer and a writer. He writes scripts for movies.

So, about the song that earned them the much deserved popularity and the best video award at the recently held Nigeria Music Award, I say "IT IS ABSOLUTELY WORTH LISTENING TO"...

Have a FABULOUS week....

Soul Sunday

It is that time of d wk again 2day and yes, we gotta thank God 4 His mercies and goodness. Each time I muse over the past, there's always that part of me that reminds me of how much of a faithful God He has been; or whenever the present and the future threaten to scare me, that still voice that says, "It is Well"...

So, this is gonna be a habit i'll incorporate....like put something inspirational up on sundays, jst for the main purpose of exaltation...

So, to the real deal...hmmn lets see...Imma start with Yolanda Adams...Yay!!!..lol...I lov her...im i d only person excited here?...hehe..

Hmmmn...Yolanda Adams?....Former school teacher and part-time model in Houston, Tx, Yolanda started as a gospel singer in the Southeast Inspirational Choir. Ever since then, she has soared, becoming a multiple award winner, which includes the grammy's and Dove awards, to mention but a few.

She didnt have it all rosy for her. Yolanda was formerly married to former NFL player, Tim Crawford and they have one daughter together.

Presently, Yolanda Adams is full of testimonies. Most of her songs reflect on her past experiences, her present and her expectations for the future.

As Yolanda sings "Be Blessed", which earned her a grammy, I agree with her and pray that you shall be blessed, from the crown of your head to the sole of your feet. ENJOY!!!!

McDEE
Posted by Picasa

All you Mcdee lovers, (as per McDonalds..haba), the fast food chain is having a McDonald's Monopoly game(sweepstakes). The game mimics the game of Monopoly and to receive tokens, you have to purchase certain menu items. Tokens correspond to a property space on the Monopoly board. When combined into color-matched properties, the tokens may be redeemed for money, or prizes, such as CD players, etc. There are also "instant win" tokens the recepient can redeem for McDonald's food, by purchasing small menu items such as hash browns, etc...
So, when next you stop at McDee, ask for the menu items that would enable you win prizes.
Also, you can play online and purchase of a menu item is not necessary. Online game begins 10/02/07 and ends 10/29/07.

It's what I call "The Attention Grabber", depending on how you tie it anyway. The bigger/broader/wider way it looks on ur head, the more attention you get. This particular piece of fashion has been around (esp in Nigeria) for ages, and it doesnt seem like its ever gonna fade. It's moved with wateva twists and turns pertaining to fashion, yet, its still standing. It is as serious as pple turning "Gele tying" into a profession, plus its selling big time..esp here in the US.

Quick Bits

Polio

The deadly disease seems to be rearing its ugly head again in Nigeria. Sixty-nine children in the north contracted the disease ff vaccination against the disease. They were sed to be vulnerable to the virus bcos they hadnt been vaccinated enough.

Poliovirus, the causative agent of Poliomyelitis, is a highly infectious disease and cld be spread from one person, to the other. The virus enters the body through the mouth and nose, and is then absorbed and spread through the blood and lymph system. It is then carried into the Central Nervous System.

The virus is noted for causing muscle paralysis of the arms and legs, and in severe cases death.

It is advised that children be vaccinated against this disease, as they are the most vulnerable ones. So, if you have kids, or kno pple who have kids, it is advisable that you get them vaccinated early enough, or if possible, help pass the information around.
